Xinhai Attends African Mining Week in Cape Town, Strengthening Partnerships Across Africa

CAPE TOWN, South Africa – October 1-3, 2025 – The African mining industry converged in Cape Town for its annual flagship event, African Mining Week 2025. Under the theme “From Extraction to Beneficiation: Unlocking Africa’s Mineral Wealth,” the event served as a critical platform for regulators, mining companies, investors, and downstream processors to discuss the sector’s future development and collaboration opportunities.

Highlighting its commitment to the African market, Xinhai Mining, a leading Chinese provider of mining equipment and engineering services, showcased its integrated “EPC+M+O” (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Mine Construction Management, and Mine Operation Management) service model. This participation marks a strategic step in deepening Xinhai’s presence across the continent, particularly in West and East Africa. A significant milestone in this localization strategy was the official establishment of its Ghana-based subsidiary, Xinhai Ghana Mining Company Limited, in July 2025.

Building Partnerships in East Africa: Meeting with Ugandan Ministry Officials
On the sidelines of the conference, Mr. Alvin Liu, General Manager of Xinhai Ghana, held productive discussions with senior officials from the Uganda Ministry of Minerals and Petroleum.
The talks explored potential collaboration in mineral resource development, mineral processing plant construction, and operational management in Uganda. The Ugandan side expressed interest in Xinhai’s EPC+M+O model, recognizing its potential to enhance project efficiency and operational management, aligning with Uganda’s goals for modernizing its mining sector. Both parties reached a preliminary consensus to advance discussions through follow-up commercial talks, feasibility studies, and potential pilot projects.

Synergy with Chinese Partners: Dialogue with China Nonferrous Metal Group
Mr. Liu also engaged in substantive dialogue with a delegation led by Mr. Wang Shougao from China Nonferrous Metal Industry’s Foreign Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. (NFC). They exchanged views on African mining trends, collaboration models, and the role of Chinese enterprises in the continent’s mining and processing landscape.

NFC representatives acknowledged Xinhai’s global expertise in mineral processing, tailings management, and mine operation. Xinhai’s EPC+M+O approach was seen as a viable model for improving efficiency and de-risking projects in Africa. The dialogue opened avenues for potential future cooperation between the two entities on resource development and project execution across Africa.
Spotlight on Integrated Solutions: Engagement with Local Media
During the event, Xinhai Ghana was featured in interviews with several African media outlets, focusing on the company’s comprehensive service package. Xinhai emphasized that its model offers clients a one-stop, customized solution—from initial concept and feasibility studies through to operational management.

Through AMW, Xinhai further consolidated its presence in West Africa via its Ghana subsidiary and opened new channels for cooperation in East Africa. The company will continue supporting Africa’s mining development with professional, reliable, and comprehensive mineral processing solutions.
